Here are some of the shots from the trip.

National Orchid Gardens has a SGD $5 per adult entry fee. Ginger Gardens is free of charge.

We had lunch at Halia Restaurant which was a great place to sit, relax and enjoy some good food.

Nice bright (and unfortunately rather hot) Sunday morning to head out to Labrador Nature & Coastal Walk (more info here.

We took the Circle line via Bishan and headed straight for Labrador Park station. Was a nice easy walk to the nature reserve and glad to test out the new lens (Raynox DCR-150 w/ SEL1855 and SEL30M35).

Not easy to use the Raynox without a tripod and didn’t get many shots that was sharp. The SEL30M35 was much easier to manage without a tripod.

Lots to learn but DMF (direct manual focus) on the Sony NEX-7 and focus peaking is a wonder to use. Really enjoying this new camera and good upgrade from the series of Canon powershots in the past. (am wondering how this camera will do underwater…)

Ended the walk with a great foot massage at Wan Yang. Perfect way to end the morning.

Been awhile since we visited the zoo. Usually it’s with kids in tow. This time nephew and niece. Lucky mother-in-law, Yh and her sisters were around so I could go off and test out the NEX-7.

Happy with some shots and OSS works wonders :) Does point out that I need 2-3 more lenses to be more versatile though.
