The technology behind the device isn’t too complicated and has already created security and privacy concerns as well as hacks to get around requiring a Nike+ shoe. However, I think the concept behind it is still great and shall attempt to get fit for my upcoming IPPT (its looming in the horizon!) with some fun and music :)

We decided to visit a place just mentioned on tv for its delicious seafood (especially known for its crabs) and so we headed down to 91 Defu Lane 10. The restaurant was hidden amidst rows of industrial buildings. After a little mix up over our reservation, we managed to get a table in the inner section (think it would have been better to open the doors if the air-con isn’t supposed to be on?).

The place looked very nicely renovated and the items on the menu definitely very appealing. We ordered baby backribs, homemade bean-curd in mini-wok, asparagus with scallops and the main crab dishes of crab in vermicelli soup as well as another butter crabs with coconut crumbs.

The wait was about half an hour for the first 3 dishes and we all especially impressed with the baby back ribs that were roasted in honey and pepper sauce.

The crabs arrived another half hour later (apparently the average waiting time is 45 min to 1 hour for crabs) and we tucked into the butter crabs first. It was quite nice especially when you dip the fried man-tou into the butter cream. Everyone also agreed that the crab in vermicelli soup was even more appealing to the taste buds since it was something different and the crab was huge!

With its reasonable price and good food, I’m sure we’ll be back here in the future. Yum yum

When Yh told me she had booked tickets to watch Titoudao, I must say I wasn’t all that ”jumping for joy” mood. Had not much idea what the play was about and the weird sounding title didn’t seem to hold much promise. Boy was I wrong!

Must say I haven’t seen a play that infuses wayang, getai, disco into 2 threads of stories (about the fictional Titoudao and Ah Chiam). As usual, Pam Ooi shines in the role of Ah Chiam and although I had a hard time catching the hokkien during the wayang sections (luckily there was “lyrics” next to the stage), I thoroughly enjoyed the very flashback scenes as Ah Chiam narrated her growing up years.

Rather amazing how a small cast of Pam Oei, Beatrice Chia-Richmond, Karen Tan, Sebastian Tan, Chua En Lai, Aidli ‘Alin’ Mosbit, Gordon Choy and Judy Tan brought wayang to life at the Drama Centre Theatre.

Titoudao is an English music drama about the life of a Hokkien street opera actress, Madam Oon Ah Chiam. During her early twenties, Madam Oon performed the role of this incorrigible but likeable character – Titoudao, to such perfection that the public fondly called her by this stage name. This is a play inspired by Madam Oon’s memories and experiences.

Week 1 of my getting fit program begins! Actually I started one day late because of my work schedule and had to start on 30/01. It was pretty easy, just a 15 min walk following by another session of (Walk 5 min, Run 1 min) x 2. Walk 5 min. Didn’t manage to find the Nike+Ipod system (so no distance clocked) but think I’ve got to at least get new shoes, my trusty SAF shoes gave way pretty much after one round

Felt pretty good doing this at the park opposite our house so shall aim to continue the rest of the schedule this week.
